Island art and weather

The island is an illustrated pixel-art playground, with painted tropical scenery, procedural characters and animated water, clouds and light.

Its weather and sky are fictional. Everyone sees the same accelerated day, lasting ten minutes, with changing wind, clouds and rain. Sunrises and sunsets usually clear for colorful views. A shared clock keeps the experience together, independent of where visitors live.

The sun and moon follow illustrated arcs rather than real astronomical positions. Rainbows after rain, rare aurora, shooting stars and lightning are playful artistic effects. The island no longer uses Yr/MET forecasts or reports actual weather in Alingsås.
